| PROTECTING YOUR PRIVACY Privacy of personal information is an important principle to GTA Autofix. We are committed to collecting, using and disclosing personal or business information responsibly and only to the extent necessary for the products and services we provide. We also try to be open and transparent regarding how we handle personal information. This document describes our privacy policies. 1 GTA Autofix Directory will from time to time ask its listing customers for information regarding their companies, goods or services. Such information will not be disseminated by GTA for any purpose other than as required and used directly by the GTA Directory. 2 In order to improve services to its listing customers, the GTA Directory may from time to time ask its customers to provide “private” information such as, but not limited to, the customer’s Internet and email contact information, company history or identification (but not by name) and qualification of the customer’s management and staff. Such information will be used by GTA Directory exclusively for the creation of a statistical information base. Gathering such information will assist the GTA Directory management to keep in touch with changes and trends in the marketing of goods and services to consumers in the automotive sector. 3 Most companies require a limited amount of personal information to support business transactions and information exchanges. This generally relates to the names of personnel and their positions and responsibilities. The focus of this information is to support business communications. This information is regarded as personal and is protected by law appropriately. GTA Autofix will not, without your prior consent, disclose your personal data to third parties except to GTA’s affiliated companies and business partners, who are bound by confidentiality obligations, to the extent necessary to fulfill the purpose(s); or when required by law. 4 When proprietary business information needs to be shared, the instrument used by GTA Autofix Directory is a mutual NDA (non-disclosure agreement) that defines the use of business/company information. This is generally used when undertaking a joint development project. 5 GTA does not monitor or read any of its listing customers’ emails other than those addressed specifically to GTA. 6 While GTA takes as many precautions as possible to prevent third parties from using or disseminating its listing customers’ information and identity, GTA cannot be held responsible should such breeches of privacy be committed by others. 7 GTA may amend this Privacy Policy in accordance with the revision of the applicable laws and/or reasons that are consistent with protecting the individual’s right to privacy. 8 GTA’s CEO is available to address any questions or concerns you might have. If you wish to make a formal complaint about GTA’s privacy practices, you may make it in writing to the company. GTA Autofix will acknowledge receipt of your complaint; ensure that it is investigated promptly and that you are provided with a formal reply. 9 For more general inquiries, the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Canada oversees the administration of the privacy legislation in the private sector. The Commissioner also acts as a kind of ombudsman for privacy disputes. The Information and Privacy Commissioner can be reached at 112 Kent Street, Ottawa, Ontario K1A 1H3.
